P-M and LS Team Up for Literacy Services Grant
The Patchogue-Medford Library, in partnership with Patchogue-Medford Schools and Literacy Suffolk, has received a two-year, $27,814 Adult Literacy Services Grant from the NYS Library/NYS Education Department.
The Library will team with P-M Schools and LS to provide conversational English, citizenship preparation, and computer training classes to adult learners in the community. In addition, a number of library services will help the community’s growing Hispanic immigrant population improve workforce skills.
The New York State Library will award twelve grants to public libraries and public library systems totaling $400,000 to support Adult Literacy Library Services program.
