On November 2, 2007, volunteers and staff gathered at Starbucks Coffee Company in Patchogue to participate in their grand opening celebration. In keeping with Starbucks’ tradition of supporting local communities, Literacy Suffolk was invited to participate and had the opportunity to further our own community outreach efforts. We thank Starbucks store manager Jennifer Cooley and her staff for their warm hospitality!
The celebration provided us a fabulous location to promote our ongoing fundraising project, the “In Good Taste” cookbook. The cookbook is full of recipes submitted by students, tutors, and friends representing an international cuisine. If you would like a copy, please click on Cook Book for more information.
We also highlighted an upcoming tutor training workshop, to be held at the Patchogue Public Library in the Spring of 2008. Please click on Tutor Training for dates and registration information.
