Tutor Mentor
A tutor mentor provides ongoing, friendly, motivational, informational, hands-on support to four or five first-year tutors for a period of one year.Requirements:

  • Minimum three years’ continuous experience as an Literacy Suffolk tutor.
  • Attend a Tutor Mentor Orientation.
  • Follow Tutor Mentoring Guidelines, distributed at the orientation.
  • Attend at least one in-service training annually.
  • Submit bi-annual volunteer reports (which include questions about tutor mentoring).
  • Mentor commitment: One year.
Administrative Volunteer
An administrative volunteer assists his or her regional office with administrative tasks.Requirements:

  • Completion of a tutor training workshop.
  • Desire to assist the organization in ways other than tutoring
  • Submit bi-annual volunteer reports (which include questions about administrative volunteers)
