Literacy Suffolk is an equal opportunity educator, serving students from 59 countries and the USA.
For thirty years, since 1978, Literacy Suffolk has served Suffolk County adult residents:
- Training volunteer tutors, trainers, and testers
- Providing free and confidential literacy skills to adults
- Offering public awareness presentations about the impact of illiteracy on the county
- Designing and developing materials for practical literacy solutions
- Taking full advantage of a technological society

Periodically we will provide a “snapshot” of the active students, tutors, and waiting students for all of the Literacy Suffolk regions. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words! We hope that you will better appreciate the mighty task of training ample volunteers to meet the growing number of students waiting to be matched with a tutor.
