Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI)
It is highly recommended that tutors and students use library computers to enhance instruction. Libraries provide the opportunity for tutors to show their students the basics of using a computer. You can show them how to “surf the Web” (use the Internet) and how to use E-mail. All libraries have free Internet and E-mail access through Suffolk Web.
If the library has software appropriate for basic literacy and ESOL adult learners, tutors can help students learn to use the programs independently. Below is information on the use of computers at the regional sites.
